SIMON X. FREDERICK
A filmmaker from Winterfell, now living in King’s Landing. My goals are to bring my love of art house genre, 70s cinema and pop culture to my UK based films and shows. Whilst putting new faces in roles that the big screen rarely sees.

My work often focuses on interior themes to pose a larger question within our society. I find genre, as well as going into the past, future and new worlds, is an exciting way to Trojan horse these ideas into both commercial and independent pictures. So I am constantly challenging myself to find that lofty ideal, even when beginning with a simple concept. And to develop compelling and complex characters to embody this. Usually resulting in characters on a journey of self-discovery or actively defying it, ending in tragedy (spoilers).

My hope is I can inspire younger versions of me who had no thought or comprehension of even working in the arts, let alone creating, by showing them in all types of film. Whilst making some gnarly genre and moving art-house films along the way.

I have three shorts in post-production as a writer-director-producer, one available on YouTube now. I wrote the screenplay for "Voidance", a sci-fi/thriller feature film, in post-production. I won the Stage 32 Feature Film Fellowship 2024. But find a list of my other placements on my personal pages under my mugshot.
