SIMON
CALLISTO

A Queer, British-Nigerian writer who’s obsession with storytelling was sparked by out-of-this-world characters and over the top stories found in both comics and animation. From the wonders of Sailor Moon to the deep, gut-wrenching lore of the X-Men (Storm hive rise up!); my long-standing love for these mediums has forged a deep desire to create art that will stand the test of time.

Much of what I write focuses on crafting worlds where the most ordinary of people seem to find themselves in the most extraordinary of circumstances. I’m always keen to use this as a springboard to explore the political and reflect the lived experiences of my community. All the while, still offering bold, thrilling and authentic, character-led stories that asks us to ponder the future, question the past and indulge in the present.

Alongside my personal creative pursuits, I’ve worked in development for a prestigious UK production company and I’m currently the Assistant Script Editor on an upcoming BBC Show.

At present, I’m working on a number of projects for television, theatre and film. If you’d like to hear more about them, my writing, or even little old me, I’m represented by Sam Greenwood at Curtis Brown.
